At Children’s Dental Health Center, we believe that every member of our staff is a critical member of our team. Our team is responsible for the environment where your child receives treatment and we work hard to make sure that you are treated courteously, that you feel welcome when you visit our office, that your treatment plan is thoroughly explained, and that all of our staff give you the time and attention you deserve. To give you the best possible service and results, we are committed to continuing education and learning. Our Staff attend pediatric dental lectures, meetings, and conventions to stay informed of new techniques, the latest products, and guidance on customer service and teamwork.
DEREK ZURN, D.D.S., M.S.

Children's Dental Health Center is proud to have Dr. Derek as our Dental Director and Owner, having been with us since 2007. He sets the standard for our patient care, ensuring that the highest clinical standards are balanced with a warm, caring and supportive environment for all of our patients. We are sure you will enjoy Dr. Derek’s down to earth flair and his ability to connect with our patients and their families.

As a specialist in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Derek’s academic and professional credentials are of the highest standards. Dr. Derek graduated from Kenyon College with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He received this dental degree from the University Of Buffalo School Of Dental Medicine and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Medical Center

in Dallas. He attended Texas A & M’s Health Science Center/Baylor College of Dentistry and earned a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and his Master’s Degree in Oral Biology. Before joining Children’s Dental Health Center, Dr. Derek was the Dental Clinic Director at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and Assistant Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry.

Dr. Derek is involved with a variety of pediatric dental communities. He has the honor of being a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has served as a Board Examiner. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, where he serves on the Council for Membership and Council of Clinical Affairs. He's the current President of the Massachusetts Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and has been an Executive Board member for years. He is also a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Fraternity and has won numerous undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate academic and research awards.

Children’s Dental Health Center values Dr. Derek’s extensive involvement in Pediatric Dentistry. His special interests and qualifications in sedation, laser dentistry, pediatric surgery, special needs dentistry, pulp therapy, and dental materials highlight his unique contribution to our practice; these qualifications help to set us apart in the care we provide to our patients.

Dr. Derek was born and raised in upstate New York and as such is a fan of the Yankees ;) He lives in Sudbury with his wife, three children, and three cats, Luke, Leia, and Buddy. He makes the long commute every day to be a part of our family here at CDHC. He is an avid tennis player, likes to restore and collect classic arcade and pinball machines, and loves to tinker around on home improvement project when time allows.
JASON SCHOENER, D.D.S.
Meet Dr. Jason!
Dr. Jason is a member of our pediatric dental team at Children’s Dental Health Center. He received his DDS from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed his residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Texas-San Antonio.
Dr. Jason served in the US Air Force for 16 years and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was most recently stationed in England as the Chief of Pediatric Dentistry at RAF Lakenheath and now lives in the Boston area with his wife, who is also a dentist.

Prior to specializing in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Jason worked as a General Dentist for several years. He has numerous publications to his credit, belongs to multiple national and international dental organizations, and is an editorial board member and peer reviewer for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Needless to say, he has a vast amount of experience and education.

Dr. Jason enjoys learning languages (he speaks Serbian and Croatian), traveling, spending time with family, and running. He’s competed in the Boston Marathon several times (was the 2nd American Finisher in 2008) and looks forward to running it again. We’re very pleased to have him as part of the CDHC family.

DEEPTI SHROFF, D.M.D., M.S.
Meet Dr. Deepti!
Dr. Deepti Shroff is a pediatric dentist at Children’s Dental Health Center. She earned her DMD from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed her pediatric dentistry residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Dr. Deepti has been recognized nationally and internationally for her clinical excellence, contributions to pediatric dentistry, and service to the community. The Early Childhood Caries (ECC) algorithm she developed has been featured by Google as a cloud computing case study. She has been an invited speaker at conferences including the International Association of Paediatric Dentistry’s “We are the Future” session, and has authored several publications and book chapters. Her work has also been recognized with honors including the Ralph E. McDonald Award for outstanding research from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), along with scholarships from the American Dental Education Association, GlaxoSmithKline, Tylenol, and the Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) Foundation.

Outside the office, Dr. Deepti enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time outdoors with her golden retriever, Simba. She is passionate about delivering high quality care and strives to make every visit a fun, positive, and educational experience for the whole family!

RAHMAN ULLAH, D.D.S.
Say hello to Dr. Rahman!
Dr. Rahman began his dental journey at Khyber College of Dentistry Peshawar in Pakistan. He moved to the United States and continued his education at New York University College of Dentistry. He completed a General Practice Residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital and worked as a general dentist for several years. From there, he completed his orthodontic training at The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He currently works at several offices as an orthodontist and has served as a dentist in the US Army Reserves since 2009.

Dr. Rahman is married with three children (who are also patients at CDHC) and when he’s not spending time with them, he enjoys cooking, cricket, swimming, and tennis.
TANIA JHAMB, D.D.S.
Meet Dr. Tania!
Dr. Tania is a specialist in orthodontics and Board Certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. She has completed numerous academic, dental, and advanced dental programs in her career, including:
Orthodontic and Dental Orthopedics Residency at Boston University
Orthodontic Preceptorship at Eastman Institute for Oral Health
Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center
Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the US Air Force Langley Air Base
Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland
BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Boston University

In addition, Dr. Tania has practiced dentistry and taught in various locations throughout the United States, and internationally, during her time with the US Air Force. We are fortunate that she moved back home to Boston to help raise her young, growing family.
