How are
Appointments Scheduled?
The office attempts to schedule
appointments at a convenient time . Pre-school children
should be seen in the morning when they are fresher.
Patients with extended treatment needs are often asked
to be seen for earlier appointment time when both child
and office can provide better individual attention
Appointment times are reserved exclusively for each
patient and all treatment rooms are prepared before
time. Doctors and staff time are dedicated to your
individual reserved time.. PLEASE CALL AT LEAST 48 HOURS
in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment.
We realize that unexpected things happen but giving
sufficient notice allows us to offer the valued
appointment time to another patient in need.

Do I Stay with My Child During the Visit?
We
welcome parents to stay with their child during their
dental visits. It is often helpful to be a silent
observer so the doctor and staff can have your child’s
attention and develop a closer rapport. We recognize
that each child has individual needs and aim to make
each dental visit a positive experience for future
dental health.

Regarding Dental Insurance
Help us help you! We need to have all your insurance
information on the day of the appointment in order to
file your insurance claim. You should be familiar with
your insurance benefits as we will ask for payment
from you of the estimated amount insurance is not
expected to pay. We can only assist you in estimating
your portion of the cost of treatment and cannot
guarantee what your insurance will or will not cover with
each claim. We do our best to help you with as much
information as possible.
SOME DENTAL INSURANCE FACTS...
NO INSURANCE PAYS 100% OF ALL
PROCEDURES
Dental insurance is meant to be an aid
in receiving dental care. Many patients think their
insurance pays 90%-100% of all dental fees. Reality is
most plan, which your employee has chosen, pay between
50%-80% of the average dental fee. The percentage paid
is usually determined by a negotiated contract which
your employer has chosen.
BENEFITS ARE NOT DETERMINED BY OUR
OFFICE
You may notice that sometimes your
dental insurer reimburses you or the doctor at a lower
rate than the doctor‘s actual fee because the” fee has
exceeded the usual and customary fee (UCR) set by the
insurance company. “ A statement such as this gives the
impresssion that any fee greater than the amount set by
the insurance company is unreasonable or well above what
other dentists in the area charge for a certain service.
This is misleading and simply not true.
Insurance companies set their own
schedules and each company uses a different set of fees
they consider allowable. Frequently the data collected
to set (UCR) fees are over 5 years old and are dependent
on the insurance companies ability to make a net profit
of 20%-30%. Remember insurance companies make a
considerable profit on selling dental
insurance--otherwise they would not be in business.
DEDUCTIBLES AND CO-PAYMENTS
When estimating dental insurance
benefits, deductibles and percentages must be
considered. This is quite confusing for many people and
it is most helpful to look at your insurance policy for
explanation. We will be happy to try and help explain
this when we help in estimating your benefits.
