Steven L. Herschlag, D.M.D. Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Herschlag is a specialist in Pediatric Dentistry with over twenty one years of experience treating children. Dr Herschlag received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from The State University of New York in Albany. He received his Dental Degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He chose to specialize in pediatric dentistry because of the positive impact he could have in the lives of young children. He completed his post doctoral specialty in pediatric dentistry at Harvard University with residency at Children’s Hospital. He continues to take postgraduate courses in both pediatric dentistry and orthodontics.

Dr Herschlag constantly demonstrates his clinical expertise combined with a genuine concern for the patients in his care. He has a strong commitment to meet the individual needs of each and every child, including those children who have special needs.

Dr.Herschlag, lives in Easton with his wife Jane and four children, Emily, Dan, Colin and Celia. His role as a Dad has aptly prepared him for the practical approach he brings to his interactions with children and their parents. We see many signs of Dr Herschlag’s passion for sports whether on the Easton soccer fields or with the sports memorabilia displayed throughout Children’s Dental Health Center.

He is an active member of The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, The Massachusetts Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, The American Academy of
Orthodontics, and the American Orthodontic Association.
 

Martin J. Cohen D.M.D. Pediatric Dentist Emeritus

Dr. Martin Cohen, in partnership with Dr. Steven Herschlag, is a founding member of Children’s Dental Health Center. His strong belief in specialized, individual patient care has influenced every facet of the practice.  He has offered his time, wisdom and advice at every step of our growth and development. Although Dr. Cohen is not involved in direct patient care he continues to provide  support and often takes part in our community outreach programs.  You may see him at a local nursery school where his visits delight both students and teachers.  

Dr. Cohen graduated from Tufts Dental School and continued advanced training in Pediatrics at Boston University school of Graduate Dentistry and completed an internship in Pediatric Dentistry at Tufts New England Medical Center. After internship Dr Cohen practiced in West Roxbury for over 20 years prior to meeting Dr, Herschlag while they were both teaching at Tufts Dental School.  The bond between Dr. Cohen and Dr. Herschlag is a strong one and the mutual respect and trust they have in each other has extended to staff, patients and the community we serve.  

Dr. Cohen lives in Westwood with his wife Diane who has  been an invaluable asset to the growth and development of the Children’s Dental Health Center.

Derek Zurn, D.D.S, MS. Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Zurn is a specialist in Pediatric Dentisty whose academic and profession credentials are of the highest standards.  He has the honor of being a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  Before joining Children’s Dental Health Center,  Dr..Zurn was the dental clinic director at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas and Assistant Professor in Pediatric Dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Kenyon College and received his dental degree from The University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.  Dr. Zurn did a fellowship in Pediatric Dentistry at Children’s Hospital in Dallas, and received a certificate in pediatric dentistry and a master’s degree in Oral Biology from Texas A&M Health Science Center/Baylor College of Dentistry.  

Dr. Zurn is a member of The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Fraternity.  He has special interests in conscious sedation, special needs dentistry,  dental nerve therapy, and dental materials.  Academic credentials aside, Dr. Zurn’s warmth and caring with patients and down to earth Midwestern flair make him a highly valued member of Children’s Dental Health Center.  

Dr Zurn was raised in upstate New York and recently relocated from Dallas, Texas back to Massachusetts - where they are closer to family and not so outnumbered by Yankee fans.   He lives in Sudbury with his wife Lisa,  two children, Declan and Annika, and two cats, Obi-Wan and Sebastian.  In his spare time he enjoys sports, playing x-box and working around his house.

Lilliana Gomez-Infante, D.M.D. Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Gomez is a specialist in pediatric dentistry who embodies  warmth and caring coupled with  excellent clinical abilities. 

She continually receives compliments from parents after their child's visit.  Dr. Gomez graduated dental school from The Central University of Venezuela in Caracas,  Venezuela and continued her advanced.dental education in pediatric dentistry at Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry where she also earned a D.M.D. degree and Certificate of  Graduate Studies in Pediatric Dentistry.  

Dr, Gomez has written articles which have been published in the Mass. Dental Society Journal and the Academy of  Pediatric Dentistry.  She has been a faculty member in  pediatric dentistry at Boston University as well as a staff member at Franciscan Children’s Hospital in Brighton. 

Dr. Gomez can often be seen with her twin two year old boys in the park.  She lives with her husband, Dr. Gustavo Infante, an accomplished prosthodontist who also brings his expertise to Children’s Dental Health Center several days a month.  Between practicing full time and raising the boys she is fortunate to have a few minutes of “spare time” to enjoy her reading hobby.

Gustavo J. Infante, D.M.D. Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Infante is a specialist in prosthetic dentistry and brings his clinical expertise to our older pediatric patients.  He graduated from the Central University Dental School in  Caracas, Venezuela and received advanced Certification in  Prosthetic Dentistry from Boston University where he also earned his D.M.D. degree.  During his training he received the prestigious David J. Baraban Award for Clinical  Excellence.

Dr. Infante has a special interest in cosmetic dentistry.  He is a member of both the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society.  Dr. Infante is a facilty member  at Boston University Dental School Pre-Doctoral Operative Program.  He lives in Canton with his wife Dr. Lilliana Gomez and twin boys and enjoys doing fun family activities.

Emad F. Aballah, D.M.D., M.S. Orthodontist

Dr. Abdallah is a specialist in orthodontics   The quality of his clinical care is unsurpassed.  He treats every patient based on their individual needs and his patients are always delighted with his clinical outcome - a beautiful smile.  

He graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he subsequently  received his Certificate in Orthodontics, and Master’s of Science Degree and certificate in Temperomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain  He is a member of the American Dental Association, the  Massachusetts Dental Society and the American Association of Orthodontists.  

Dr. Abdallah's work has been  published in many professional journals and textbooks..  He is an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and lectures nationally and internationally to orthodontic societies . 

Dr. Abdallah is married to his wife, Tamara who is a pharmacist .  In his “spare” time he enjoys traveling, soccer , and tennis.

Alexander Athanasiou, D.M.D. Orthodontist

Dr. Athanasiou is a specialist in orthodontics.   His patients are always pleased with the superb quality of his orthodontic treatment . We see delighted parents and children at the end of their active orthodontic care.  He earned his B.S. from Hofstra University, his RDH from SUNY Farmingdale and graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.  

Dr. Athanasiou furthered his specialization in orthodontics at Tufts earning a Certificate in Orthodontics.   He is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society and is the recipient of the Everett Shapiro Endowed Prize Fund in Orthodontics.  He is a member of the American Dental Association , the American Association of Orthodontists, and the Northeast Association of Orthodontists.  

Dr. Athanasiou has been an instructor in Radiology at Tufts Dental School.  He and his wife  Dr. Caterina Raffa have three children and enjoys spending family time, walking and swimming.
